Discovery Setting section

IP Broadcast:

Select

Enabled

if an IP broadcast is to be

used when searching for devices. A broadcast
is sent to devices on the network and a search
is performed. This increases the speed of the
search; however, devices that are not
compatible with the broadcast cannot be
found.

SNMP Ping:

Select

Enabled

if an SNMP ping is to be used

when searching for devices.
An SNMP request is sent to all devices within
a network search range and a search is
performed. This reduces the speed of the
search; however, a more reliable result can be
achieved.

SNMP Setting section

Time Out:

Type in the length of time (in milliseconds, 1
second = 1000 milliseconds) to wait for a
response when searching for devices.

Retries:

Type in the number of attempts that are made
when a search for devices fails.

SNMPv1 Table:

Add or remove read community names and

port numbers used when searching for devices
compatible with SNMPv1.
(Refer to “To add settings used with a search
for devices compatible with SNMPv1” (p. 44)

and “To remove settings used with a search
for devices compatible with SNMPv1”
(p. 44).)
