4. Quick Setup
This chapter guides you to set up the DP-S1 quickly so that you can
experience it’s basic features. In order to enjoy the DP-S1 fully, please
refer to Chapter 8. Advanced Setup.
1. Start Quick Setup
If A/V and antenna connection is complete, press the STANDBY button
to start. The front display window will show “Welcome”, “Loading”, and
“Live” successively. If you turn on the DP-S1 for the first time after
purchasing, there will be no digital broadcasting services stored in the
DP-S1, it will switch to SETUP MENU automatically. Otherwise, you can
enter SETUP MENU by pressing the SETUP button.
NOTE
z If the front display shows “Setup” instead of “Live”, this means that
you have to scan the broadcasting services first. Please refer to the
next section of scanning services.
1-1. Quick Setup of Video Output Format
If the front display window indicates that the DP-S1 is ready to use but
nothing displays on the TV screen, you have to adjust the format and
resolution of the video output by pressing the TV-OUT button. The
default video output is in a SD PAL (576i) format. You can switch the
video output to a SD NTSC (480i), HD PAL (720p), HD NTSC (720p),
HDMI Auto, HDMI PAL and HDMI NTSC format successfully with the TV-
OUT button. Please refer to the following information to adjust the
video output to each of the video connection types.
z Composite/S-VHS: SD PAL or SD NTSC
z Component: HD PAL or HD NTSC
z HDMI: HDMI Auto, HDMI PAL or HDMI NTSC
NOTE
z The TV-OUT button is developed so that you can configure the video
output of the DP-S1 when you can not see anything on the TV screen
because the video formats do not match each other.
z The front display window indicates the current video format as you
press the TV-OUT button.
z To make your configuration effective, please wait at lease 3 seconds
before pressing the TV-OUT button.
z It is strongly recommended that you again configure the video format
more precisely in the Setup menu.
