Before there were any cold and sinus medications the hot toddy was world-
renowned as the cure for the common head cold. Today, many people still drink hot
toddies to ease aches and pains, and to clear up congested sinuses.
2 tsp.

Sugar

2 cups

Water

¼ tsp.

Lemon juice

2 oz. (¼ cup)

Brandy, scotch, bourbon, or whiskey

2 Lemon

slices

Add water, sugar, and lemon juice to the Hot Drink Maker and press the “ON” switch.
Wait for the Hot Drink Maker to automatically shut off. Place one lemon slice and
one ounce of liquor in each mug. Dispense the drink into the mug over the lemon
slice and liquor. Add ¼ cup of cranberry juice to the Hot Drink Maker for a Cranberry
Toddy. Serves 2.

Smooth, rich and satisfying, try adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an even
smoother, creamier version. For a non-alcoholic version, simply omit the rum.
2 cups

Water

2 tbsp.

Butter

3 oz.

Rum

2 tsp.

Brown sugar

Dash of nutmeg

Dash of cardamom

¼ tsp.

Vanilla

2 Cinnamon

sticks

2 Lemon

slices

Vanilla ice cream (optional)

Add water, butter, sugar, nutmeg, cardamom, and vanilla to the Hot Drink Maker and
press the “ON” switch. Wait for the Hot Drink Maker to automatically shut off. Place
1 lemon slice, 1½ ounces of rum and one scoop of vanilla ice cream (optional) in
each mug. Dispense the drink into the mug over the lemon slice, liquor, and ice
cream. Garnish with one cinnamon stick. Serves 2.
