3. Install a new gasket between the SVS valve adapter flange and the pump.
Apply a light coat of grease to the gasket to hold it on place.
4. Install the four 7/16”-14 screws that secure the valve assembly to the pump.
(See Figure 6-1: “SVS Non-Locking and Locking Valve Overview,” on page
28.) Tighten and torque screws to 25 ft.-lbs. (34 N-m) in a criss-cross pat-
tern to ensure an EVEN seal.
5. Install the valve actuators, discharge piping, electrical wiring, and any other
components that were disconnected or removed during valve removal. Be
sure any markings or tags are properly matched.
6. Close all drain cocks and replace all suction and pressure caps.
7. Lightly lubricate all Heim joints, universal joints, and exposed bearings and
wear points with an approved lubricant. Also see Section 4.3 “Lubricants”
on page 20.
8. If the valve is equipped with a manual or electric gearbox operator with
panel mounted indicator lights, cycle the valve from fully CLOSED to fully
OPENED while observing the lights. Verify that the lights cycle properly.
9. Pressurize the system and test the valve for proper operation.
