Chapter 5

Last, but Not Least

For your safety and that of your equipment, follow these rules for handling and
cleaning your MacBook and for working more comfortably. Keep these instructions
handy for reference by you and others.

Important Safety Information

Avoiding water and wet locations Keep your computer away from sources of liquid,
such as drinks, washbasins, bathtubs, shower stalls, and so on. Protect your computer
from dampness or wet weather, such as rain, snow, and fog.

Handling your MacBook Set up your MacBook on a stable work surface that allows for
adequate air circulation under and around the computer. Do not operate your
MacBook on a pillow or other soft material, as the material can block the airflow vents.
Never place anything over the keyboard when operating your computer. Never push
objects into the ventilation openings.

The bottom of your MacBook may become very warm during normal use. If your
MacBook is on your lap and gets uncomfortably warm, remove it from your lap and
place it on a stable work surface.

WARNING:

Failure to follow these safety instructions could result in fire, electric

shock, or other injury or damage.
