• Add to USB stick

added to the USB stick.

• Delete from USB stick

Deletes the selected backup file from the USB stick.

• Save to disk

Opens a dialog for selecting a folder. Copies the selected backup file from the

USB stick to the hard disk.

Automatic behaviour when IPC is started with the connected USB stick
• No action

When the USB stick is inserted, the industrial PC boots up normally without

making a backup or restore.

• Display selection dialog (only for

IPCs with display)

When the USB stick is inserted, the industrial PC provides a selection dialog

via which the backup or restore can be selected.

• Record new backup

When booting with the USB stick inserted, a backup is automatically written

to the USB stick. This is especially sensible for systems without display.

• Restore selected backup (without

question)

When booting with the USB stick inserted, a restore is automatically

(without a selection dialog) written from the USB stick to the industrial PC.

This is especially sensible for systems without display.

Tip!

Leave the USB stick connected to the industrial PC to ensure that a backup is made every time the IPC boots up. Thus,

the last data bases are always available.

Record backup
• Prefix

Freely configurable addition for the backup name.

Tip: Use a name which can be assigned clearly later.

• Max. no. of backups

Maximum number of backups which may be saved on the USB stick during

the automatic backup.

The maximum number in »IPC Backup & Restore« is 100! If the maximum

number of backups is reached on the USB stick, the oldest backup will be

overwritten.

This value is only evaluated if "Record new backup" is selected.

Recommendation: 3
