6) When you are sure of the size, the tube side of the shaft must be drilled
through one side of the tube. (see fig 7 below). Determine this hole
position by installing the new u-joint and making a mark where the
setscrew hole is on the u-joint. (If you thread the setscrew into u-joint and
down on the shaft it will leave a mark)
7) Reinstall the tube side u-joint, and tighten the setscrew and jam nut (see
fig 8-9 below).
8) Tighten the fasteners on the steering box, and the steering column.
