Common Error Messages

The media player remote control does
not work.

• Press only one button at a time.

• Make sure the batteries are properly inserted.

• The batteries may already be drained out. Replace

batteries with new ones.

• Make sure that the path between the remote control

and the media player is not blocked.

FIRMWARE UPGRADE

The firmware upgrade recovery splash
screen is shown after you turned on
the media player or the media player
keeps rebooting to the splash screen.

The previous or current firmware upgrade process failed.

• Repeat the firmware upgrade process. Go to

page 140 for instructions.

• If you are still unable to update the system firmware,

perform a system reset. Go to page 130 for
instructions.

No storage present.

Attach the USB device that contains your media files.

Unrecognized storage.

The USB device model is not supported. Use another
USB device.

Trouble Shooting

This indicates a system diagnostic failure. Contact
WD Technical Support for assistance.

CONTENT PLAYBACK

There is no media in the current folder.

There are no supported media files in the selected
folder. Select another folder that contains media files
of the correct format.

Unable to play the selected file. Please
see the User Manual for a list of
supported file formats.

Eject and disconnect the USB device from the
media player or map a drive to the media player
while the file is located.

2.

Connect the USB device to your computer or
check the file on the media player’s internal drive
and make sure the file format is correct/supported
(see “Supported Formats” on page 146).

3.

Attach the USB device to the media player again
if necessary.
