2G Versus 3G BlackBerry Smartphones and Service
When using 2G communication, BlackBerry smartphones are not able to simultaneously
communicate both voice calls and data calls. If a voice call is in process, the Loner Mobile
application will not be able to communicate with the Loner Background Services.
™ For voice calls longer than 12 minutes, this will cause the Loner Mobile application to
show as Offline within the Loner Mobile user account. Additionally, an Emergency Alert
or Missed Check-in cannot be communicated to the Loner Portal account. This is not a
limitation when using 3G communication.
