DMX Connections

TruColor HS uses industry standard 5-Pin XLR male and female connectors to receive DMX
signals and output DMX signals. The DMX port is self-terminating and does not require
external DMX termination when used in a chain.

The DMX pin wiring is as follows:

• Pin 1: Signal Common

• Pin 2: Data -

• Pin 3: Data +

• Pin 4: Spare

• Pin 5: Spare

DMX Operation

Select the primary DMX address via the 3-segment push-button switches located on the front
of the DX450. DMX channels 1-500 will provide single channel control to the attached HS
lamphead uniformly. Setting DMX values of 501-998 will provide 3 channels of independent
DMX control for individual manipulation of the three LED boards inside the HS fixture. For
example, setting the DX450 to address 501 will place control of the first HS LED board at
DMX address 001; the second and third LED boards are controlled at addresses 002 and 003
respectively. DMX values of 10-255 will set dimming levels from 10% to 100%.

Indicator Lights

The front panel of the DX450 includes three LED indicators. By observing that state of these
indicators, the operating state of the power supply can be determined:

n

RED

The Red indicator above the switch will illuminate when power is being received by the
DX450. The lamphead will turn on within two seconds.

n

YELLOW

The Yellow indicator lights up when all control is through the on-board dimmer, or “local”
control.

n

GREEN

The Green indicator will illuminate when valid DMX signal is present on the DMX Input jack.

Remote Phosphor Panels

Color temperature (CCT) for the HS fixture is changed by removing and replacing the remote
phosphor panels on the front of the lamphead.

TruColor HS should only be used with Cineo TruColor HS remote phosphor panels in place.

Panels should always be inserted with the glossy side out.

Do not expose to abrasive surfaces.

Please reference the Cineo TruColor HS catalogue for available color temperature options.
