Connections

2.1 ICON LTS

The standard system comprises two IC 112 LA cabs
and four IC 118 BA bins.

Figure 3: ICON LTS

Always connect an ICON system by starting at the
top and working your way down (see figure 4).

ICON LTS’ controller for the entire stack sits in
the IC 112 LA mid/high unit. This cabinet’s Sub
Out port serves to route the filtered low-frequency
audio signal to the subwoofer as well as control
signals sent remotely from the PC software to the
first subwoofer. The first subwoofer’s Through port
forwards these signals to the second subwoofer.
Heads up: Be sure to connect cords and route signal
in the right sequence. Never feed the signal from
the mixing console straight to the subwoofer. This
circumvents the controller’s settings and endangers
your system. Connect audio signal sources to the IC
112 LA mid/high unit’s Input only!

2.2 Twin ICON LTS

A twin ICON LTS consists of two IC 112 LA mid/
high units and four IC 118 BA subwoofers on each
side. Use the first mid/high unit’s Through port to
forward the mixing console’s signal to the second
stack on the same side of the PA. Use a balanced
XLR cord to route the signal to each stack’s
subwoofers from that stack’s mid/high unit’s Sub
Out port. Ensure XLR connectors are wired as
follows: 1= ground, 2= +, 3= -.

Setup:

Be sure to align the two stacks correctly when
configuring the ICON systems in twin array.
Otherwise, undesirable frequency cancellations or
phasing effects may degrade the system’s frequency
response. Feel free to set subwoofers side by side;
that is, with the sidewalls touching.
