Walkboard Components
Extend Walkboard
Refer to Figure 18
77. Select two new:
123-260D STEP EXTENSION MOUNT ANGLE
78. Select four sets of new:
79. Orient the angles
holes furthest apart are to the front. Using bolts
, mount one near each end of the existing walk-
board
(which may be one wide or two narrow
walkboards). The retainer
the bottom lip of the existing walkboard. Loosely
secure with lock washers
and nuts
80. For 10-foot drills only, select one new:
123-260D STEP EXTENSION MOUNT ANGLE
and two sets new:
Mount this third angle near drill center.
81. Select one of the following new:
123-304D 7’ NO-TILL STEP EXTENSION
123-259D STEP EXTENSION
Set walkboard extension on the top of the angles.
82. Select four (7ft) or six (10ft) sets of new:
Loosely secure the walkboard extension to the
angles.
83. Snug the walkboard extension forward against the
existing walkboard and tighten all bolts.
Re-Mount SMV
Refer to Figure 18
84. Select one new:
and two sets new:
802-004C HHCS 1/4-20X3/4 GR5
804-006C WASHER LOCK SPRING 1/4 PLT
803-006C NUT HEX 1/4-20 PLT
85. Mount the blade
to the walkboard. The short-
break end is up and forward. Secure with bolts
,
lock washers
and nuts
86. Select the saved SMV reflector
and the two sets
of saved fasteners. Mount the reflector on the new
blade.
Closeout
87. Close lids on all seed boxes.
88. See Operator Manual. Hitch and raise drill. Lower
the openers. Rotate gauge wheels. Check that all
drives and box meter shafts are rotating freely.
89. Set Small Seeds rate adjusters to 0 to discourage
pest entry. See page 17.
90. Review the Operations section of this manual before
planting small seeds.
91. Check chain slack and bolt torque after the first few
hours of operation.
