Once finished, scroll to the bottom of this page and click the “OK” button. If you forget

to do this before proceeding, your settings will need to be re-entered.

j.

Please take care to revisit all of the above steps and confirm the accuracy of your

settings. Any incorrect value may cause the Ethernet modem to fail and a factory reset

process will be required!

k.

On the left, Click on “Apply Settings” This will apply all changes to the Ethernet modem,

and thus reset access to this configuration utility.

4.

Confirm Ethernet modem configuration

a.

Using a PC connected to the same network as the router we configured in Step 2, click

the Windows “Start” button > Click Run, type in: cmd and click OK.

b.

In the new console window type: ping [Ethernet modem static IP address] and press

Enter

i.

Example: ping 192.168.0.230

ii.

The console should display some new messages that look similar to:

“Reply from: 192.168.0.230: bytes=32 time=30ms TTL=60”

1.

If the messages look similar, your Ethernet modem has been configured

correctly. (The numbers do not need to match the above example.)

2.

If you see a “Request timed out” message repeatedly, something has

been configured incorrectly. Please review all settings.

3.

In order to reconfigure these settings, attempt to connect to the device

again using DeviceInstaller starting at Step 3d above. If this fails, you will

first need to perform a Factory Reset detailed at the end of this guide in

Technical Notes.

5.

Configure a PC using BaseManager to connect to this BaseStation Ethernet modem

a.

In BaseManager, select your desired Site and click “Add New BaseStation”

b.

Select “Ethernet Device” as your Connection Type.

c.

If the PC is on the same network as the Ethernet modem, use the Ethernet Modem

Static IP Address (Field #5) for the “IP address” field in BaseManager.

i.

Use 6001 for the “Port” field in the BaseManager software.

d.

If the PC is NOT on the same network as the Ethernet modem, use the External Static IP

Address (Field #1) provided by your ISP for the “IP address” field in BaseManager.

i.

Use the External Access Forwarding Port # (Field #6) for the “Port” field in

BaseManager.

Note: Updates for BaseManager may be available on the web. In BaseManager, click the

“About…” button and then click “Check for Updates.”
