Technical Notes:

To Perform a Factory Reset:

Requirements:

A Windows PC or Laptop with a Serial port or a USB-to-Serial adapter and
HyperTerminal software

Access to the Ethernet modem hardware, specifically the UDS1100-IAP component

A Null-Modem serial cable

Steps:

1.

Loosen the Lantronix UDS1100-IAP’s two mounting screws, and the two thumb-screws
attaching the small-end of its serial adapter to the green board.

2.

Slide the unit back, separating the small-end of its Serial adapter from the attached
serial communications (green) board.

3.

Lift the detached UDS1100-IAP and attach the Null-Modem serial cable to its “Serial”
and your computer’s serial port.

4.

Run Hyperterminal (Start->Run: hypertrm.exe), start a new connection, click the
“Connect using:” drop-down and select the COM port associated to your PC’s Serial
port. Select 9600 for “Bits per seconds” and None for “Hardware control” and click OK.

5.

Once HyperTerminal is setup and displays “Connected” in the lower left-hand corner,
disconnect power from the UDS1100-IAP, hold down the “x” key on your keyboard, and
reconnect power to the UDS1100-IAP.

6.

The HyperTerminal window should display text similar to what is shown below:

If it does NOT display this after a few seconds, repeat Step 4.

7.

Press Enter as indicated and the screen should scroll by with a lot of settings
information, and ending with following Menu:
