REPLACING BATTERY

WARNING: Do not short battery termi­
; by allowing a wrench or any other object

to contact both terminals at the same time.

Before connecting battery, remove metal

bracelets, wristwatch bands, rings, etc.

Positive terminal must be connected first to

preventsparking from accidental grounding

1. Lift seat pan to raised position and open

battery box door

2.

Disconnect BLACK battery cable first

then RED battery cable and carefully
remove battery from tractor.

3. Install newbattery with terminals in same

position as old battery.

First connect RED battery cable to posi­

tive (+) terminal with hex bolt and keps

nut as shown. Tighten securely.

Connect BLACK grounding cable to

negative (-) terminal with remaining hex

bolt and keps nut. Tighten securely.
Close battery box door.

TO REPLACE HEADLIGHT BULB

1, Raise hood.

2. Remove bulb holder from the hole in

the backside of the grill.

3. Replace bulb in holder and install bulb

holder securely back into the hole in
the backside of the grill

4, Close hood

INTERLOCKS AND RELAYS
Loose or damaged wiring may cause your

tractorto run poorly, stop running, or prevent
it from starting.
• Check wiring. See eiectrical wiring dia­

gram in the Repair Parts manual.

TO REPLACE FUSE

Replace with 30 amp automotive-type plug­

in fuse. The fuse holder is located behind

the dash,

TO REMOVE HOOD & GRILL ASSEMBLY

1. Raise hood.

2. Unsnap headlight wire connector.
3. Stand in front of tractor Grasp hood at

sides, tilttowardengineand iiftoffoftractor.

4. When replacing hood, be sure to recon­

nect the headlight wire connector.

ENGINE

TOADJUSTTHROTTLECONTROLCABLE

The throttle control has been preset at
the factory and adjustment should not be

necessary Check adjustment as described

below before loosening cable. If adjustment

is necessary, see engine manual.

TO ADJUST CHOKE CONTROL
The choke control has been preset at the fac­
tory and adjustment should not be necessary.

TO ADJUST CARBURETOR
Your carburetor has been preset atthe factory

and adjustment should not be necessary
However, minoradjustmentmay be required

to compensate for differences in fuel, tem­

perature, altitude or load. If the engine does
need adjustment, see engine manual.
