Taking Photographs in Portrait Mode (

)

Use this setting when you wish to take

a photograph with the subject in the

foreground clearly emphasized against

a blurred background.

By pressing the shutter button down and

holding it, continuous shooting is possi­
ble.

If the subject appears dark against a

bright background, the flash will fire auto­
matically.

Set the command dial to

• If the subject’s head and shoulders fill up most of the center of the viewfinder, an effec­

tive background biur can be achieved, in addition, a better effect can be achieved with
the subject as far away from the background as possibie.

•A more effective background biur can be achieved when using a teiephoto lens. If using

a zoom iens, set the lens to the telephoto setting (80mm in the case of a 35-80mm

iens).
