Backlight Compensation
Backlight compensation allows you to adjust exposure before shooting a back
lit subject, such as one with sun or an open window behind it. Use backlight
compensation if subject appears dark in the viewfinder.

Compose image in viewfinder whiie
camera is in record pause mode.

Press and hold BLC button
and then press START/STOP
button to begin recording.

Press START/STOP button
again after recording.
• Camera goes into record pause mode.

Reiease BLC button.

High Speed Shutter
The 1/1000 high speed shutter allows you to record sports and other fast-
action scenes. The normal camera setting is 1/50th of a second.

Point camera at subject and
compose scene in viewfinder.

Press 1/1000 button.

Make your recording.

Press 1/1000 button again
to reset normai speed.
• 1/1000 speed display disappears from viewfinder.
