ETX®-CD / ETX® Connectors

The implementation of the battery input complies with the ETX® Specification. Implementation information is provided in
the ETX® Design Guide. Refer to the documentation for additional information.

In compliance with EN60950, there are at least two current-limiting devices (resistor and diode) between the battery and
the consuming component.

I2C Bus

The I2C Bus is implemented by using general purpose I/O. You also can access the I2C Bus via JUMPtec’s Intelligent Device
Architecture (JIDA) BIOS functions. For additional information, refer to the ETX® Design Guide, I2C application notes and
JIDA specifications which are available at the Kontron Web site.

SM Bus

System Management (SM) bus signals are connected to the SM bus controller, which is located in the southbridge (Intel
82801GBM) device. For more information about the SM bus, please see the System Management (SM) Bus section in the
Appendix A: System Resources chapter.
