^ Adjust the paper guide to the size of the paper inserted by pushing

the guide.

• Do not bend the envelopes when adjusting the paper guide.

Set the source item in the properties window to Manual or MP (see

page 45).

• When you print on transparencies, select “TRANSPARENCY” from Paper Type List Box

of the printer driver.

• When you print on envelopes or labels, select THICK” from Paper Type List Box of the

printer driver.

Connecting the printer

Using a parallel interface cable

To print directly from an IBM compatible computer, you need to connect your printer to
the computer with a parallel interface cable.

If you do not have a parallel interface cable, you will need to purchase one from your local

computer store or dealer (see “Bi-directional parallel interface" on page 65).

• Use a shielded bi-directional parallel interface cable.

y Make sure the printer and the computer to which it is to be

connected are turned off and disconnected from the AC outlet.

2 Connect the appropriate end of the parallel interface cable into the

parallel interface connector on the rear of the printer.
