Time Code and User’s Bit

Time code

The time code (signal) reader is used to read out the value of the time code so as to display the
absolute position of the tape in increments of hours, minutes, seconds and frames.
The time code can be read out across a wide range of VTR playback speeds from the stop

mode to slow playback and to high-speed playback.

The time code value appears on the display or it is indicated by figures superimposed onto the
screen.
