Making a call using the directory
Follow this procedure to make a call from within the directory. See "IP
Ph one 1140 components" for t he locatio n of the d ire ctory k ey.
Step Action
1 Press the directory key to access the directory .
2 Se lect t he n ame o r n umber t hat y ou w ant to call.
3 Press Ok.
The Dial screen appears.
4 Press Ok.
The number is dialed.

Using the Inbox
The IP Phone 1140 has a dedicated fi xed k ey f or t he Inbox , allowing you to view
the i ncoming n umber, name, t ime a nd d ate, a s w ell a s t he d isplay s hown on the IP
Phone a t t he t ime o f t he i ncoming c all. Call i nfor mation is captured only if the
call l asts l onger t han t wo s econds.
The Inbox can store a maximum of 10 calls. When the maximum is reached,
the oldest call is dropped. Calls appear in the list in the order in which they
were received, with the most recent call at the top of the list. Use the up
and down navigation keys to scroll through the list.
