3. COMPRESSOR OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
3.4 BATTERY
The battery is supplied discharged, in some instances
there may be residual charge only. Immediately charge
the battery as directed in section 3.5
Battery must be charged and fully discharged at least 5
times in order to condition the battery to ensure normal
battery life. Failure to do this may shorten battery life and
affect the performance of the device.
The battery has a multicolour LED (4a.) indicating the
battery charge level. With the battery fitted on the unit,
press button (1a.) and the LED will indicate the battery
charge level (fig. E).
• Green LED = battery charged
• Orange LED = less than 50% battery charge remaining
• Red LED
= battery low; immediately recharge
3.5 BATTERY CHARGING
Caution: the battery can only be charged when
disconnected from the main unit and the power supply
unit plug is inserted into battery charging connection
(4b.)
• Remove the battery from the unit by pressing on the
locking tabs (4c.) (fig. F)
• Connect the battery to the power supply unit (2.) and
then to the mains power (fig. G). Alternatively use the
car-lighter socket (fig. H) and the car lighter cable (12V
DC) (3.).
• The battery is charged when the LED (4a.) turns green.
Caution
- Before using a new battery, charge for at least 24 hours.
After initial 24 hour charge, fully discharge the battery
and then recharge it for another 24 hours.
- Subsequent charging time is about 6 hours.
- At an ambient temperature of 25°C, a fully charged
battery will last for about 45 minutes. In the event of
long periods of disuse, the battery must be recharged
at least every 3 months to prolong battery life.
- Remove battery from unit, when it is not to be used for
extended periods of time.
- Charge the battery only when it is low in order to
preserve its storage capacity and minimise the charging
cycles.
- The battery life is equivalent to about 300 charging
cycles at an ambient temperature of 25°C. To ensure
that the unit will continue to perform consistently, it is
advisable to replace the battery after this period.
