Connecting the AVS550 To Your TV:

The video output connection is determined by the

capability of your TV.

A. If your TV is equipped with progressive scan

(Y/Pb/Pr) inputs or interlaced (Y/Cb/Cr) component

video inputs, use them for the best picture from

DVD playback.

B. If your TV does not have component video inputs,

S-Video input is the next best choice. Most current

TVs have at least one S-Video input.

C. The most common video input type on a TV is com-

posite video, also known as CVBS. This input uses

a standard RCA jack, usually color-coded yellow.

The AVS550 supports all three of the above options via

it’s TV output. All of the video input sources connected

to the AVS550 are available at its S-Video and CVBS

outputs. The component output is only available when

the AVS550 internal player is used. If you have other

sources connected to the AVS500, you must connect

an S-Video or CVBS cable from the AVS550 to your TV.

Connect an S-video cable if any of your auxiliary

sources have S-Video output. Connect a composite

(CVBS) video cable if any sources have CVBS output

only, or if your TV does not have an S-Video input. If

you are not certain what you need at this point, con-

nect them all.
