CHAPTER 5 Working with Dashboards and Reports

Dashboards and reports are powerful tools in Salesforce that let you view snapshots of your data. Both features are available in the mobile

Working with Dashboards

Mobile dashboards let you keep up with corporate metrics and key performance indicators even when you are away from your desk.
Your Salesforce administrator defines whether the Dashboards tab is available in the mobile application.

The minimum BlackBerry operating system requirement for mobile dashboards is 4.5. Mobile dashboards are compatible with versions
4.2 and 4.3, but tables in the dashboards might not display properly. To find out which operating system is installed on your BlackBerry
smartphone, go to the BlackBerry home screen, and then select Options > About.

Displaying Dashboards

Selecting the Dashboards tab displays the dashboard you most recently viewed. If this is your first visit to the Dashboards tab in Salesforce
Classic, the mobile application requests the dashboard you last viewed in Salesforce. Depending on the strength of the cellular or WiFi
signal, it could take several minutes before the dashboard displays on the page.

To view a different dashboard, choose a dashboard from the

View Dashboard

drop-down list, and then click Go. This drop-down

list includes dashboards in all dashboard folders to which you have access.

Note the following about mobile dashboards:

Mobile dashboards display in a single column.

Links to custom report details are disabled in mobile dashboards.

Dashboards do not automatically refresh in the mobile application, but you can

manually refresh them

.

The mobile application lets you work offline. Without a wireless connection, you can see the last viewed dashboard, but you cannot
refresh the dashboard or select a different one.

Refreshing Dashboards

Due to the limitations of older BlackBerry browsers, dashboards cannot automatically refresh in the mobile application. The data in each
dashboard is as current as the date and time displayed in the

As of

field at the top of the dashboard. To refresh the dashboard:

1. Click the Refresh button.
