Why don’t I see all of my Salesforce records on the device?

The space limitations and usability restrictions of wireless devices make it necessary to send a subset of your Salesforce data to the
device. Salesforce Classic provides a powerful and configurable method to filter data.

The data selected is determined by the mobile configuration assigned to your user account in the Mobile Administration Console.
Mobile configurations are sets of parameters that determine the data Salesforce transmits to users' mobile devices, and which users
receive that data on their mobile devices. The configuration can be edited by your Salesforce administrator at any time to change
the data you receive.

Once every 24 hours, Salesforce Classic requests a full update of your data set. The filters contained in your mobile configuration are
executed to rebuild the data set, and the resulting data records are sent to your device.

The mobile client application checks for data changes every twenty minutes. During this incremental update, the server retrieves
any newly created records from Salesforce that you own, and then sends that data to the device. Modifications to any records already
resident on your device are also retrieved. The client application adjusts its incremental polling time based on application usage. If
the application is not in use, the polling time interval increases in an exponential fashion, until it reaches eight hours. From that point
forward, the device polls for data changes every eight hours instead of twenty minutes. This prevents the mobile application from
draining the device battery when the application is rarely used.

The incremental data update may retrieve some records that do not match the filter conditions of your mobile configuration. In this
case, these records only exist on your device until the next full update, which occurs every 24 hours.

Why isn’t the data exchange between Salesforce and my device instantaneous?

Unlike Salesforce, which is an on-demand browser application, Salesforce Classic is a client application you install and run on your
BlackBerry smartphone. There are several reasons why you cannot run the Salesforce on-demand application on your BlackBerry
smartphone:
