5. INSTALLATION

IMPORTANT: The machine must be positioned against the wall (minimum distance 10
mm) and must be installed by a technician authorized by Smeg.
The technician who installs the machine is responsible for the appliance operating
correctly after it has been installed. He is also obliged to provide the user with all
the information required to use the machine in the correct way.

During installation, the scratch protection film must be removed from the outer steel
surfaces.

The appliance MUST NOT be used by unauthorised or untrained staff.

The diagrams containing the machine’s measurements and the recommended positions for drainage can be
found at the back of the manual.

IT IS SEVERELY FORBIDDEN FOR UNAUTHORISED PERSONS TO USE THE APPLIANCE.

5.1. POSITIONING

The side panels of the machine can adhere to the adjacent furniture and care must be taken to leave space
at the rear: it is therefore advisable for the wall at the back to be made of brickwork or some other
impermeable material.


The machine has pipes to supply and drain off the water. These can be positioned towards the right or left,
depending on the installation requirements.
The machine can also be installed under a work top: This operation must be carried out by specialised staff.

5.2. LEVELLING

Once the machine has been set in position, it must be levelled until horizontal (2 degrees tolerance allowed)
by either screwing in the feet or unscrewing them.
Correct levelling will ensure that the machine operates in the right way.

Notes for preventing risks of blockage or damage: If the water pipes are new or have not been used for a
long time, check that the water is clear and clean before attaching to water mains.

A non-return device can be found inside the appliance, in agreement with the current regulations in forces,
EN 61770

The pipe is designed to be attached to a tap with a threaded ¾” gas bushing.

Use the filter supplied, “A” in the picture, to connect the end of the drainage pipe.
