Lubricating the flex shaft is vital to the life of the drivetrain . The
lubricant also acts as a water seal, keeping water from entering the
hull through the stuffing box .

Lubricate the flexshaft, propeller shaft and all moving parts after every
2–3 hours of operation .

1 . Use either two crescent wrenches, two 10mm wrenches, or a

combination of either to loosen the collet nut .

2 . Remove the 3mm setscrew that secures the flex shaft to the

propeller shaft .

3 . Remove the propeller shaft from the propeller strut . Make

sure not to lose the two Teflon washers on either side of the
propeller strut .

4 . Slide the flex shaft out of the stuffing box .

5 . Lubricate the drive shaft with PRB0100 Waterproof Marine

Grease (see your local hobby shop) . Reinstall the drive shaft in
reverse order . Be sure to reinstall the nylon washer between the
universal and the stuffing box .

Note: Running the Miss Elam Brushless EP RTR in salt water

could cause some parts to corrode . If you run the boat
in salt water, rinse it thoroughly in fresh water after
each use and lubricate the drive system . Because of its
corrosive effects, running RC boats in saltwater is at the
discretion of the modeler .
