3. Determine the jacking location on the side of the vehicle. Attach the lug bolt

adapter and wheel wrench handle to the jack as shown.

4. There are two jack engagement points

on the vehicle for the front and rear
tires. The front tire jacking location is
located behind the front tire and in
front of the drivers door. The rear tire
jacking location is located in front
of the rear tire and front of the leaf
spring mount.

5. Operate the jack using the lug bolt

adapter and wrench handle.

6. Rotate the wheel wrench clockwise to

raise the vehicle until the wheel just
clears the surface.

7. Remove the wheel bolts and pull the

wheel off. Install the spare wheel and
wheel bolts with the cone shaped end
of the wheel bolts toward the wheel.
Lightly tighten the wheel bolts. To
avoid the risk of forcing the vehicle off
the jack, do not fully tighten the wheel
bolts until the vehicle has been low-
ered.

8. Using the wheel wrench, finish tight-

ening the wheel bolts using a criss-
cross pattern. The correct wheel bolt
tightness is 145 ft lbs (197 N·m)
torque. If in doubt about the correct
tightness, have them checked with a
torque wrench by your authorized
dealer or at a service station.

9. Install the wheel center cap and remove the wheel blocks. Do not install chrome or

aluminum wheel center caps on the spare wheel. This may result in cap damage.

10. Lower the jack to its fully closed position.

11. Stow the cable and flat tire before driving vehicle.

12. Stow the jack, jack handle and winch handle tools back in the stowage compart-

ment.

13. Check the compact spare tire pressure as soon as possible. Correct the tire

pressure as required.
