Transcoder Tab

The Transcoder tab allows configuration of up to four video transcoders to recode video and display it on an
analog monitor. For more information, please contact 3xLOGIC.

Constant

Quality/Bitrate

Selects the type of encoding. Constant Quality will ensure the quality of the encoding never falls
below a certain threshold (Low, Medium, High and Super-High) but at the expense of playback
performance (reduced frame rates and skipping/jumpiness). Selecting Constant Bitrate will ensure a
constant Bitrate is sent, at the expense of image quality. For high frame rate/high motion video
feeds, it will help the playback performance, improving video smoothness.

Deinterlacing

Addresses interlacing issues that may occur on high resolution video feeds.

Enabled

Enables the corresponding transcoder.

Register, Control,

Streaming Ports

Changes the ports to use to connect to the transcoder. Refer to the documentation of the video
transcoder to correctly set these ports.

Auto Link

When enabled, establishes an automatic connection with the transcoder.

Virtual Switch Tab

The Virtual Switch tab allows configuration of up to eight digital (PC) or analog monitor outputs.

Digital

The digital virtual switch feature allows users to configure additional PC monitors to display up to 16
simultaneous live camera feeds per PC monitor. Users are able to access and control all cameras
from DVR sites, whether they are analog, network, or PTZ cameras, all without the need for a
KBD300 keyboard.

Analog

The analog virtual switch allows live viewing or playback of one camera per analog monitor
connected to the VIGIL Client system.
