Problem
Possible Cause - Solution
Nothing appears on
screen.
The screen saver is activated. Press any key or move the mouse to return to your display.
The system is in a power saving mode. Press the power button for less than 4 seconds. If the
computer does not turn on again then it was most likely shut down, or has no power source.
Check the cables, outlets, power strips etc.
You forget the boot
password.
If you forget the password, you may have to discharge the battery of the CMOS. Contact your
service representative for help.
The DVD regional codes
can no longer be
changed.
The code has been changed the maximum 5 times. See
“Changing DVD Regional Codes” on
page 11
.
The sound cannot be
heard or the volume is
very low.
The volume might be set too low. Check the volume control knob, and click the Volume icon
on the taskbar to check the Windows setting (see
“Sound Volume Adjustment” on page 13
).
The Wireless LAN/
Bluetooth modules
cannot be detected/
configured.
The driver(s) for the module(s) have not been installed. Make sure you have installed the driver
for the appropriate module (see the instructions for the appropriate module in
Wireless LAN (WinXP)” on page 24
