Parameter of the Lector Vocoder

The Vocoder section of Lector offers a wide range of
parameters tro control the analysis and synthesis signals.

Analysis Filter Bank

The Analysis Filter Bank determines which part of the
frequency spectrum is being analysed by the Vocoder.
Also, it includes the Bands parameter that sets the
“resolution” of the whole Vocoding section. The single
frequency bands are tuned logarithmically. If you for
example set up 13 bands within the frequency range of
440 Hz and 880 Hz the bands creates a chromatic scale
from standard pitch A to the octave above.

Low

20...20000 Hz

This parameter sets the frequency range of the lower
analysis band. For voice analysis, Low should be set to

around 220 Hz. For loops and other signals, the values
should be 100 Hz.

w

You can also edit the Low parameter by clicking on
the L flag within the Filter Bank display.

High

20...20000 Hz

This parameter sets the frequency range of the higher
analysis band. For voice analysis, High should be set to
around 14000 Hz. For loops and other signals, the values
should be 16000 Hz.

w

You can also edit the High parameter by clicking on
the H flag within the Filter Bank display.

w

You can change the Low and High parameter
simultaneously by clicking between the flag markers
and move the mouse horizontally.

Attack

0...60s

Sets the Attack speed for the Analysis Filter Bank. The
lower the value, the faster the Attack. The higher the value
the slower – thus softer – the Attack.Typically, this should
be set to values between 0 - 15.
