Getting the Most from Your Battery

Do not leave your printer attached continuously to the
communications cable. Some cables force the printer to provide
power even when you're not using it. This power doesn't damage
the printer, but it drains the battery's charge.

Be sure to use a fully-charged battery before long or battery-
intensive printing sessions. Certain operations (for example,
printing labels with a lot of data) drain the battery more quickly
than others.

Consider using more than one battery. It is helpful to have a
second battery that can charge while you use the first one.

Store new batteries at room temperature in a cool, dry area.

Recycling Your Battery

The RBRC

EPA-Certified Label on the nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd)

battery indicates Monarch Marking Systems is voluntarily participating
in an industry program to collect and recycle these batteries at the
end of their useful life, when taken out of service in the United States
or Canada. The RBRC

program provides a convenient alternative to

placing used Ni-Cd batteries into the trash or the municipal waste
stream, which is illegal in some areas. Please call
1-800-8-BATTERY

for information on Ni-Cd battery recycling in your

area. Monarch Marking Systems’ involvement in this program is part
of our commitment to preserving our environment and conserving our
natural resources.
