To prevent damaging or reducing the life of your printer's Nickel
Cadmium (Ni-Cd) battery, read this document.

Note: Be sure to use only Monarch-approved batteries and chargers

in your Monarch printer.

Ordering Additional Batteries for Your Printer

9450™ Printer uses Ni-Cd battery #116384.
9490™ Printer uses Ni-Cd battery #115495.
Pathfinder® Ultra™ Printer uses Ni-Cd battery handle #115873.
Pathfinder® Scout™ Printer uses #MO 6092-04 or #MO 6092-05.

Charging the Battery

The first time you charge your battery, it may take longer than
usual. In some cases, a new (or deeply discharged) battery may
not reach full capacity for several charging cycles.

Charge batteries only when they are completely drained. Partially
charging a battery may reduce its life. If you're unsure of your
battery's status, leave the battery attached to the printer and wait
for the printer to indicate that you must recharge the battery.

If you use a trickle charger, do not leave your battery attached any
longer than the time required for the battery to charge. Doing so
reduces the battery's life.

When charging the battery, remove it from the printer. When the
battery is charged on the printer and the communications cable is
attached, the battery doesn’t receive the full output of the charger.
It takes longer for the battery to charge and reduces the battery’s
charge level.
