Setting up PVS fibre channel network for Avid connectivity
These instructions assume that a basic installation of the
Avid NewsCutter, MediaComposer, K2 or Profile system has been completed. If you
have not yet installed these systems, complete this first and then return to these
installation instructions.
For information on installing and configuring Fibre Channel and the PVS series of
videoservers, refer to the Avid document profile.pdf. This document is located on the
Avid installation CD.
Before proceeding, verify you can ping the PVS and establish an FTP connection to the
PVS from the device running the TransferManager or Avid Interplay.
Setting up the K2 system for Avid connectivity
The Avid NewsCutter, MediaComposer, TransferManager, Avid Interplay, or K2
installation is described in the following sections:
Before proceeding, verify you can ping the K2 Media Client, K2 Summit Production
Client and establish an FTP connection to the K2 Media Client, K2 Summit Production
Client or K2 Media Server from the device running the TransferManager or Avid
Interplay.
