POWER SOURCE

This unit operates on 8 X ‘C’ (UM-2) size batteries or from AC120V/60Hz line power supply.

A. DC POWER OPERATION
1.

Open the Battery Door (#

).

2.

Insert 8 “C” (UM-2) size batteries (not included) according to the polarity diagram on the back cabinet.

3.

Close the Battery Door (#

).

IMPORTANT:

Be sure that the batteries are installed correctly. Wrong polarity may damage the unit.


Note: For better performance and longer operating time, we recommend the use of alkaline-type batteries.

(a) Do not mix old and new batteries.
(b) Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.
If the unit is not to be used for an extended period of time, remove the battery. Old or leaking battery can
cause damage to the unit and may void the warranty.


B. AC OPERATION
1. Connect the included AC Power Cord to the AC Mains (#

) on the back of the unit.

2. Connect the other end of the AC Power Cord to a wall outlet with AC120V/60Hz power supply.

CD PLAYER OPERATION

1.

Set the Function Selector (#2) to the "CD" position.

2.

Open the CD Door (#

). Place an audio CD with its label side upward in the CD compartment and close the

CD Door.

3.

After a few seconds, the total number of tracks on the CD will appear in the CD Track Display (#

).

4.

Press the CD PLAY/PAUSE Button (#1

) and

the CD will start playing from the first track. The CD Track

Display will light steadily.

5.

Adjust the Volume Control (#3) to obtain the desired sound level from the Speakers (#1

).

To suspend playing, press the CD PALY/PAUSE Button (#1

). The CD Track Display will flash. To resume

playing, press the CD PLAY/PAUSE Button(#1

) again.

You can choose to play your favorite track directly by pressing the CD FWD Skip Button (#1

) to skip forward

or CD REV Skip Button (#1

) to skip backward. The CD Track Display (#

) will indicate the correct track

number selected.

8.

To repeat playing a particular track, press the REPEAT Button (#1

) once. The Repeat Indicator

CD Track Display will flash.

To repeat playing the entire CD

11. When you wish to turn off the CD Player, set the Function Selector (#2) to the "OFF" position.

CD PROGRAMMED PLAY
This function allows the tracks to be played in a programmed sequence.
1. Under CD stop condition, press the PROG. Button (#

). The CD Track Display (#

) will display “01” and the

PROG Indicator (#

) will flash.

2. Press the CD FWD Skip Button (#1

) or CD REV Skip Button (#1

) to select the song to be programmed.

3. Press the PROG. Button (#

) again to store selection. The CD Track Display (#

) will advance to “02”.

4. Press the CD FWD Skip Button (#1

) or CD REV Skip Button (#

) to select the next song to be programmed

and press the PROG. Button to store selection.

5. You may repeat steps #2 - #3

to program as many as 20 tracks. If you attempt to program more than 20

tracks, the CD Track Display (#

) will revert to “01” and the old entry will be overwritten by the current

new entry!

6. Press CD STOP Button (#

) to end programming and return to normal play mode.

7. To check the programmed tracks, press PROG. Button (#

12

) continuous to show all the programmed songs.

The CD Track Display (#

20

) will display the program number first and then followed by the flashing track

number.
