Opening / closing the wooden parasol / Cleaning and maintenance / Disposal
j Secure the canopy 1 by inserting the guard
pin 5 into the pre-drilled hole in the upper
pole 2 (see diagram A).
j When closing the parasol, follow these
instructions in reverse order (see diagram B).
note: Make sure that you turn the crank
handle
3 anticlockwise when you close the
parasol.
CAUTIOn! Allow the parasol to dry com-
pletely before closing it otherwise mildew
may develop.
j Put the storage bag supplied over the completely
dry parasol.
Q Cleaning and maintenance
In order to protect the wood against rotting, withering
and cracking, the wooden part was treated with a
pigment-based oil. Therefore, it will be protected
for a relatively long period of time. If this product is
left outdoors unprotected for a lengthy period, the
impregnation will wear off over time.
j Clean this product with a slightly dampened,
lint-free cloth.
j Oil the wooden parts with furniture oil when
water no long rolls off the wood in droplets or
when the wood starts to fade. Before oiling it,
clean the product with a brush and mild soapy
water.
h CAUTIOn! FIrE HAZArD! Keep in mind
that used oily cloths can easily catch fire.
j A possible gray shimmer on the wooden parts
can be removed with sandpaper - in serious
cases, a sander may be necessary. Please comply
with the safety and operating instructions of
your sander. Then oil the wooden parts with
furniture oil.
note: Discoloration of the wooden parts does
not influence the stability and functioning of the
product.
j Use the storage bag supplied when not using
the product.
Q Disposal
The packaging is made entirely of
recyclable materials, which you may
dispose of at local recycling facilities.
Contact your local refuse disposal authority for
more details of how to dispose of your worn-out
product.
