Drill the holes and insert a dowel into each.

Screw two screws into them. Do not screw the
screws completely in.

Hang the scale on the screws by the suspen-
sion slots

Check that the scale is hanging safely and
firmly.

Using the stand:

First insert the desired picture into the scale as
described in the section on “Replacing the
picture”.

Fold out the stand

stand lies at right angles to the scale.

Place the scale down on a level surface.

Check that the scale is safe and stable.

Replacing the batteries

note: The photo-glass scale indicates when it is
time to replace the batteries. If you operate the
scale with too weak batteries, this is indicated in
the LC display

by the value “ ”.

If this happens, replace the exhausted batteries
by two new batteries of the same type
(3 V

, CR2032 button cells).

To do this, follow these steps:
1. Open the battery compartment cover

on

the back of the scale.

2. Remove the exhausted batteries and dispose of

them as described in the section about “Dis-
posal”.
note: When you are inserting the batteries,
make sure that you do not permanently bend
the contacts.

3. Insert the new batteries into the battery com-

partment

in the battery holders

. Make sure you fit the

batteries the right way round (polarity). The
“+” symbol must be visible on the top of the
battery.

the battery compartment cover

check that the batteries has been inserted cor-
rectly and reinsert them if necessary.

Cleaning

Do not use chemical cleaners or scouring
agents for cleaning the device.

Clean the device using a slightly moist cloth.
For more stubborn dirt you can also apply a
weak soap solution to the cloth.

Never immerse the device in water or other liq-
uids. Ignoring this advice may damage the de-
vice.

j 

Ensure that no water enters the device. If this
does occur, then wait until the device has dried
out fully before you use it again.

Disposal

The packaging is made entirely of recy-

clable materials, which you may dispose
of at local recycling facilities.

Contact your local refuse disposal authority for
more details of how to dispose of your worn-out
product.

To help protect the environment, please

dispose of the product properly when it
has reached the end of its useful life and
not in the household waste. Information
on collection points and their opening
hours can be obtained from your local
authority.

Faulty or used batteries must be recycled in accord-
ance with Directive 2006 / 66 / EC. Please return
the batteries and / or the device to the available
collection points.
