5.2.7 Command Block Functionality

Introduction
The command block functionality allows the ProLinx gateway to receive requests

for special tasks through the other protocol channel (example: Modbus TCP/IP,

DF1, and so on). To perform a command block request, a command block must

be moved to the ProLinx gateway database starting at a specific address

configured by the user. For example, this functionality allows a Modbus TCP/IP

client to pass IEC-870-5-101 timestamp events to the IEC-870-5-101 client that is

connected to the ProLinx gateway.

Note: The IEC 101S protocol Command Block functionality explained in the following topics is not

available in all ProLinx Communication gateways. It is available in combination with only a limited

number of other protocols. If you see a parameter edit box called Window Parameters in your

ProSoft Configuration Builder I014S configuration options list, then this feature is supported on

your gateway model and the next few topics will tell you how to use this feature. If you do not see

the Window Parameters edit box option in the configuration tree, your gateway does not support

this feature and you may safely ignore the next few topics.
