14 Getting Started
The USB Cradle
Use the supplied USB cradle to connect to an available USB port on your desktop PC to run ActiveSync, and to
recharge your device with the supplied AC adapter.
To connect the USB cradle to your PC
1. Connect the USB cable
to the cradle.
2. Insert the USB cable into
an available USB port on
your PC.
To charge the battery using the USB cradle
1. Insert the supplied
AC adapter into the
adapter port on the
cradle.
2. Plug the other end into
a standard power outlet.
When you charge the battery by using the USB cradle and connecting to the power outlet, the charge time
estimates (approximations):
• Standard battery (BTR6800): battery alone - 5 hours; installed in device - 3 hours.
• Extended battery (BTE6800): battery alone - 7 hours; installed in device - 4 hours.
LED indicators on the USB cradle
Icon Description
A YELLOW light indicates that the cradle is connected to the PC via the USB cable.
A YELLOW light indicates that the cradle is connected to the power outlet via the AC adapter.
An AMBER light indicates that the battery is charging; it lights YELLOW when the battery is fully charged.
