7.1

Failure in router or failure in part of router

7.1.1

FAULT CODE is displayed

The message "fault code" that remains displayed during operation indicates that
there has been no recovery from a failure which has occurred. In this case,
implement the measures below.

1. Specify the part in which a failure has occurred. See Section 1.2 in the GR2000

Operations Log and MIB Reference.

2. Execute a show logging command and confirm the contents of the log on the

specified part.

3. Confirm the contents of the log in step 2 referring to Chapter 5 in the GR2000

Operations Log and MIB Reference and take the measures described in the
Remedy column.

7.1.2

STATUS lamp is in state other than lit up in green

The router is not in the operation enable state when the STATUS lamp on the basic
control module (BCU) is in a state other than lit up in green during operation. Take
measures for each state of the STATUS lamp as shown in the table below.

7.1.3

Mode cannot be switched

Confirm according to the table below when mode cannot be switched in a
duplex-configured router.

Indicates that internal RP is blocked temporarily. Operation is restarted by
executing a free rp command when internal RP is blocked using a close rp
command. It can also be restarted by deleting disable information when
internal RP is blocked using configuration definition information.

The router is in a state where the standby mode is temporarily blocked during
duplex operation. Execute a free standby command from the active mode
when operating the standby mode.

The lamp is red.

A failure has occurred in the router and operation has stopped. Contact the
maintenance staff immediately.

The lamp is
extinguished.

Same as in the
left.

The STATUS lamp is in the operation disable state when other LEDs operate
with the power turned on. Contact the maintenance staff immediately and
follow his instructions.

Note: A GR2000 B model is incorporated into the main router body with the basic control module (BCU) and routing
processor module (RP) integrated.
