The XSCFU uses the eXtended System Control Facility (XSCF) firmware to provide
the following functions:
■ Controls and monitors the main unit hardware
■ Monitors the Oracle Solaris Operating System (Oracle Solaris OS), power-on
self-test (POST), and the OpenBoot PROM
