Troubleshooting, Adjustment & Service

PTO DRIVE BELT

Adjust Belt Tension

1. Remove the deck guard.

2. Turn the adjustment nut (A) until a 10lbs. (13,5Nm)

force is required to deflect the belt 1/2” (1,3cm)
between the spindle pulleys (see Figure 14).

3. Reinstall the deck guard.

Removal & Replacement

1. Remove the deck guard.

2. Loosen the adjustment nut (A) until the belt is slack

enough the remove from one of the spindle pulleys.

3. Remove the old belt and replace with a new one.

Make sure the V-side of the belt runs in the pulley
grooves (see Figure 14).

4. Tighten the adjustment nut (A) until a 10lbs.

(13,5Nm) force is required to deflect the belt 1/2”
(1,3cm) between the spindle pulleys (see Figure 14).

5. Reinstall the deck guard.

6. Run the mower under no-load condition for about 5

minutes to break-in the new belt and re-check the
belt tension.
