Insert a Cassette

1. Press the EJECT button to open the

cassette compartment.

2. Insert the cassette so the safety tab is

at the top; the flap is at the bottom;
and the tape window faces out.

3. Gently press the compartment where it

is labeled PUSH until it clicks into
place. The top closes automatically so
do not press down on the top as it may
damage the camcorder.

Turn On the Camcorder

Slide the POWER switch upward to turn
the camcorder on (or off).

Tips: Whenever the camcorder is powered on, it
turns on in the CAMERA mode. If it does not, press
the PLAY/CAM button until the red indicator lights

If you do not record within three minutes, the
camcorder shuts off to reserve power.

The displays appear in the LCD window with

❙❙ flashing. The red light (located just inside the

viewfinder rim) flashes during record-pause.

Adjust Viewfinder Focus

Slide the eyepiece focus control back or
forth to obtain the clearest possible
picture.

Start and Stop Recording

Press and release the REC: Record
Start/Stop button (thumb trigger) to start
recording.

Tips: The

and ❙❙ in the LCD window and red

light inside viewfinder rim remain on but stop
flashing.

Use the thumb trigger for brief recording pauses. If
you plan to stop recording for a longer period, turn
the camcorder off.
