Microphone Placement
Be sure the
height of the
microphone is
within three feet
of the speaker
height.
Center the micro-
phone in front of
the TV.
Set the microphone
on a level surface at
ear height at least
six feet from the TV.

or tripod so as to
pick up sound from
all directions.

Adjusting Beam Angles 3.
a. Adjust Center Beam Angle until sound is
about equal in both ears.
b. Adjust Left Beam Angle to maximize sound
heard from the front left side.
c. Adjust Right Beam Angle to maximize sound
heard from the front right side.
d. Adjust Left Surround Beam Angle to where
the sound seems to come from the left rear
side. If this cannot be achieved, make the
setting the same as that for Left Beam Angle.
e. Adjust Right Surround Beam Angle to where
the sound seems to come from the right rear
side. If this cannot be achieved, make the
setting the same as that for Right Beam Angle.
Adjusting Levels 4.
a. Adjust Center Level to the mid level.
b. Adjust the following levels one at a time so that
each one sounds about the same as the center
level:
Left Level
Right Level
Left Surround Level
Right Surround Level
c. Check all sound levels by quickly switching
between them using .
d. Readjust individual levels in small increments
and recheck as above until all sound levels
seem about the same.
Resetting Angle and Level Values in the
Custom Menu
Press 1. EXIT to clear all menus.
Press
2. MENU. Go to the Sound > SoundPro menu
and press ENTER.

5. MENU. Go to the Sound > SoundPro menu
and press ENTER.
Enter the correct values for the room layout.

Auto Setup
265 Series
This section describes auto-setup available with 265 series
TVs. Auto setup uses the included calibration micro-
phone.
Power on the TV and external subwoofer, if any. 1.
Plug the microphone cable into the TV’s

Place the microphone as described in the guide-

lines.

4. MENU and go to Sound > AutoSP.
Highlight

Quietly exit the room right away. The calibration 6.
sequence may be loud. Wait for completion of setup
before returning to the room.
Play some sample audio material to check the

ning Auto setup.
