Dual node tape attachment

Attaching tape to the DR550 (single node configuration) can be done with stand alone TS1120, LTO
Gen 3, or 3592 drives or with these drives placed within a tape library such as the IBM 3584. IBM’s
other tape solutions can also be attached in the same manner. Each port (5-7) on the Switch_1
within the DR550 is connected to port 1 on the on the drive. The second port on the drive (if
available) is connected to one of the ports (5-7) on Switch_2. Should a failure occur on the FC path
from Switch_1 to the drive, the tape job can be restarted using the second path.
