J66, J67, J68, J69 Serial ATA Connector

DJ800 supports up to 6 SATA devices each with data at transfer rates of

150MB/s. Two Serial ATA ports supported by ICH5R, and four Serial ATA

ports supported by Adaptec 8110. Adaptec 8110 also supports RAID

configurations. RAID stands for “Redundant Array of Independent De-

vices” and provides different levels of safety, redundancy and performance.

This chipset supports RAID 0, 1, and 10, which are defined as follows:

RAID 0

Striping: high performance, designed to connect mul

tiple drives to act as one

RAID 1

Mirroring: writes data to two drives at once in case one

drive fails, the other one will be a complete replica and

can continue on. Full fail-over

RAID 10

Combination of RAID 0 and 1: over 4 drives, The drives

are split in half and striped together, and the 2 new st-

riped drives are then mirrored.

This Mainboard features six Serial ATA ports for six Serial ATA devices.
