• If an error message appears, follow the message,

then select [YES].
An error message appears when:

– the calibration mic is not connected.

– front speakers are not correctly connected.

– surround speakers are not correctly

connected.

– front and surround speakers are not correctly

connected.

Disconnect the calibration mic, then select
[YES]. The result is implemented.

Follow the message, then select [YES] to
retry.

Tip

• You can check the distance between the listening

position and each speaker. See page 98.

Note

• While [AUTO CALIBRATION] works:

– do not turn off the power.

– do not press any button.

– do not change the volume.

– do not change the function.

– do not insert or eject a disc.

– do not disconnect the calibration mic.

About error messages for the
auto calibration

If the following message appears during [AUTO
CALIBRATION], check “Symptoms and
remedies” a
nd retry the auto calibration.

* If the sound of the surround speakers is not output,

adjust the wireless system. See “Adjusting the IR
transmitter and IR receiver of the surround speaker
(L)” (page 28)

connected properly.

If the calibration mic is connected
properly, the calibration mic or
calibration mic cord may be
damaged.

Mic input level
overloaded.

The calibration mic or system may
be damaged.

Contact your Sony dealer or local
authorized Sony service facility.

Check front
speaker
connection.

Front speakers are not connected.
Check that the front speakers are
connected properly (page 21).

Check surround
speaker
connection.*

Only one surround speaker is
connected. Check that the surround
speakers are connected properly
(page 21).

Check front and
surround
speaker
connection.

Front speakers are not connected
and only one surround speaker is
connected. Check that the speakers
are connected properly (page 21).

Front left and
right speakers
are reversed.

Front speakers are not installed
properly or front left and right
speakers are reversed. Check the
front speakers are installed properly
(page 21).

If the calibration mic is left/right
reversed, place the calibration mic
properly.
