Playing a tape

You can play any type of tape, TYPE I
(normal), TYPE II (CrO

2

) or TYPE IV (metal).

The deck automatically detects the tape type.

Press § PUSH of the front cover
and insert a recorded tape into the
deck.

Press FUNCTION repeatedly until
“TC” appears.

Press DIR MODE on the remote
repeatedly to select to play one
side or * to play both sides.

Press · (or TAPE ª· on the
remote).

Press ª (or TAPE ª· on the remote
again) to play the reverse side. The tape
starts playback.

Fast-forward
or rewind

Find the beginning
of the current or
succeeding track

Remove
the cassette

Adjust the volume

Tips

• Pressing TAPE ª· on the remote while the

power is off automatically turns on the power and
starts tape playback if there is a tape in the deck
(One Touch Play).

• You can switch from another source to the tape

deck just by pressing TAPE ª· on the remote
(Automatic Source Selection).

• When you want to reduce the hiss noise in low-

level high-frequency signals, press DOLBY NR on
the remote before step 4 so “a” appears.

* The deck stops automatically after playback both

sides five times.

on the remote).

During playback, press

on the remote).

Press § PUSH.
