16:9 Enhanced

Provides enhanced picture resolution, which allows you to
watch widescreen pictures that have been stretched in the
vertical direction, such as certain DVD titles, at their original
16:9 aspect ratio.

Auto

Select to activate the 16:9 Enhanced feature
automatically when a 16:9 aspect ratio signal is
received (except when receiving 480p signal).

On

Select to activate the 16:9 Enhanced feature.
This setting returns to

Auto

automatically when

you change the video input (except when
receiving 480p signal).

The option is available only when the TV is set to
Video 1, 2, 3 or 4 (KLV-S20G10), which you can do
by pressing the TV/VIDEO.

Auto YC

When connecting both VIDEO IN and S VIDEO IN, you can
select the jack from which the TV receives the input signal. The
TV is factory set to receive S VIDEO input signals.

The “aspect ratio” is the
ratio of width to height
of the screen. 16:9 is
also referred to as wide
screen format.

z

If the TV does not
automatically detect
the 16:9 aspect ratio
signal when 16:9
Enhanced is set to
Auto, select On to turn
on the 16:9 Enhanced
feature.

z

To use the 16:9
Enhanced feature with
widescreen DVDs, set
the TV’s aspect ratio to
16:9 on your DVD
player.

16:9 Enhanced Picture

Wide screen video
camera or DVD
picture

DTV 16:9 aspect
ratio picture

Compressed vertically and
displayed on the screen at its
original 16:9 aspect ratio.
However, black bands appear
at the top and bottom of the
picture.
