vertically regardless of its aspect ratio signal. Therefore, a picture in the 4:3
aspect ratio, such as a normal 4:3 broadcast, looks unnatural because of
compression. This problem is more serious for a Letterbox movie because
the entire picture, including its upper and lower black bands, is compressed.
You can watch these pictures at their original aspect ratio by setting

Remote control does not operate.

The batteries could be weak. Replace the batteries.

Check the polarity of the batteries.

Point the remote control at the remote control sensor of the TV.
